  2. This is the updated version of the case I built a year ago: Specs: 4790k Gigabyte z97x sli 2x8 GB panram 2400mhz ddr3 noctua nh-c14 (only running lower fan, ultra low noise adapter) xfx r9 290 dd black edition (at 1100mhz atm) 256 GB crucial mx100 3TB WD green white bitfenix alchemy cables nzxt hale82 850W windows 8.1 pro Changes: -new front plate out of steel this time -new power switch -new plate around cooler -added lighting around side and front -changed cable weaving to black -refinished all the plates in brushed+glossy lacquer -painted the bushes white Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/bEWCW
  3. Version 1: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/251321-homemade-custom-fully-open-case-4790k-r9-290-now-with-better-pics/ I'm updating the front panel making it from metal now and adding a new powerbutton: http://www.aquatuning.co.uk/media/image/71263.jpg i'm remaking the panel around the cooler also and changing the finish on all the parts to a more glossy one. Tomorrow my led strip should come in and I'll be able to add some nice white lighting all around as well. I added some in progress pictures this time to show how much handwork I do, no cnc for me
  4. So next month I'm doing some more work on my custom case/pc to add more lighting and change the general colour scheme to black/white/grey and silver. I'm also planning on buying a mechanical keyboard with white backlighting so I thought why not do my mouse as well? There was room to hide one led on each side pointing backwards and to tuck the wiring away as well. The wiring is just 2 led's and 1 resistor tucked inside the mouse getting power straight off the usb cable. You can see the wires leaving the inside together with the big red cable for the thumbbuttons. Link to mouse pics: http://imgur.com/a/ELr08 Link to case pics: http://imgur.com/a/JtPYd

It's made from 1.5 mm cold rolled steel with a clear lacquer satin finish. Cooling is excellent as you may expect and it's not a complete dustmagnet as people seem to think. I'm currently working on an improved version which will be cnc laser cut from stainless steel and probably for sale.
  6. I'll take better pics and maybe make a video explaining it tomorrow if people are interested
  7. [updated pics] http://imgur.com/a/JtPYd Build this 2 months ago, took me about a week to cut all the steel and make it fit.
