  1. A while ago I got an idea for using my capslock key, which I never use, as a new modifier. I googled a bit and found out that someone already made it, but it wasn't that good (weird mapping, not useful shortcuts etc.). So I made my own and I think its pretty stellar What it does is, when you hold the capslock key, the following changes: I J K L => UP LEFT DOWN RIGHT U O => HOME END T G => PGUP PGDOWN H Z/Y => BACKSPACE DELETE Q W E => (ctrl+shift+z) UNDO REDO X C V => CUT COPY PASTE A => CTRL S => SHIFT F => ALT D => CTRL + SHIFT WIN + CAPS => CAPS It took me around a week to get used to it, but once I did, it sped up my coding dramatically, especially because I don't need to reach for the mouse anymore to select text. I've put the AutoHotKey file in the attachments if anyone is interested. And if you have any ideas on how to improve it, please tell CapsScript.ahk
  2. I was messing around with the voltages around all day yesterday and found a fix. What i did is downloaded the AI SUITE 3 (software for my motherboard). There i could increase only the iGPU voltage. After some testing, i had no more black screens if i increased the voltage by 0.05v (= 1.17v base from cpu + 0.05v offset). I will try with overclocking the cpu now and see if i can get back to 3.6GHz or something simmilar. Thanks for help guys!!
  3. here is what i have tried until now, everything producing the black screens.. auto@3.2GHz 1.2v@3.2GHz - they still happen but are noticabely less frequent 1.17v@3.6GHz 1.2v@3.6GHz
  4. I am using the stock cooler. Tems go up to 50C on load, on idle they are 35-40C. I tried the 1.2v on CPU and it still does the black screen.. I will go back to stock now and try some different voltages, also auto voltage.
  5. I tried running the CPU on stock and I had the same problem. I currently have it overclocked to 3.6ghz with 1.17v IIRC.. should i try 1.2v or something?
  6. I have used both the HDMI and VGA cables before with my main pc and they worked fine. I also know the monitor works for sure, since I've been using it on other PCs.
  7. Hey! On my secondary pc im using a G3258, and no graphics card. On windows i have random black screens (the screen goes black for a second and then reconnects back, sometimes corrupting the playback of youtube videos, so that i have to restart chrome). I have tried reinstalling windows, different graphics drivers, and changing from HDMI to VGA, everything is producing the same issue. There is one thing i found out.. the more the graphically intense stuff on my screen is, the more frequent are the black screens.. Do you guys know of anything else i could try? (other than finding another motherboard and test that way..) Thanks
  8. If you're looking for sprites/3d models to use while testing/prototyping, check out Kenney assets. They are like 10$ and you get a sh*t ton of them, plus they are CC0 (public domain), so you can leave some in your game after release, if they look good! I use them while testing new stuff in my games, so I dont waste time drawing ugly paint sketches. Heres where I got them: https://kenney.itch.io/ oh and most of them are availible for free on http://opengameart.org/
  9. Hey! I am planning to build myself a small windows server to have it as a NAS and ocasionally a game server (eg. ARK with less than 10 people). I was thinking of getting a g3258 and a cooler, so I could overclock it to around 4.6Ghz, but I can not find any info if this processor would actually be enugh for what I'm trying to do... The server would be on 24/7 probably, so idk about AMD chips, since they get quite hot and power hungry as far as I know x: Will the g3258 be enough, or should I get something more powerful or get some cpu used? Thanks in advance for answers!
  10. I just recieved the Mionix Castor mouse today , here are my first impressions: I must say i am inpressed with how it fits in my hand. Its almost perfect, the only bad thing is on the right side of the mouse, there is a slight bump to keep your fingers in place.. so when i hold the mousei have to adjust the position of my pinky and ringfinger.. but i think i just have to get used to the new shape and then it will be perfectly fine. (this is for finger tip grip, other grips i think would have no issues with this) The software is ok.. nothing special really.. just ok. And the sensor/tracking is really good! It "feels" like i am a lot more precise. That should be it c:
  11. I think that you can expect 60 on auto settings and dips to 30 when you will be playing with a party, but only when fighting
  12. For games Path of Exile. They answerd and solved any problem I had in 5-10 minutes (and i contacted them many times). I have no idea how they do it...
  13. what I have and have seen at friends places: i7, geforce 970 [max settings] - 60fps everywhere, except when there is more than lets say 15 people fighting at once i7, radeon 6850 [auto settings] - 45-60fps mostly, with drops to 20-30 when in dungeons with 6 people i5, radeon 6670 [auto settings] - 25-40 fps mostly, even in parties so 960 will be plenty if you will play at 1080p on auto settings (or high), but since you have a bit lower resolution i think you could put it on max settings I must say the game is quite well optimized, compared to tera and black desert (tried the japanese version).. it lags when theres a lot of people, but thats to be expected.
  14. I have a Maxnomic chair, it is is built quite well. I have it for 3-4 months, using it for 10h/day and it has no sings of use. The only problem I have with "gaming" chairs is that if you cross your legs when you sit, your legs bump with the sides of the chair (the sides of where you sit on) so you can't really sit that way comfortably. Oh and check the mechanism on the bottom of the chair.. normally a bigger mechanism means a more rubust chair (at least from my experience). My last chair was an office one, with a beefy mechanism and it lasted me around 10 years (had to change the fabric 2 times, but stil). Hope this helps c:
  15. Zowie looks awesome aswell! I've done my research (whole day yesterday and today), went to the store to try the G303, and I think that the best fit for my hand would be the Mionix Castor, so i ordered it today. Thankfully its not overpriced since i could get it direct from the Mionix website and got additional 10% off.. so in the end it was a pretty nice deal. I will post my opinnion about it when i recieve it. Thanks again guys!
