  1. spec wise that monitor is the best there is atm but i have read about a lot of problems about it too (you can go to the monitors thread in the rog forum and see for yourself). The reason why i am not really sold on it is because of the fact that g-sync only works with nvidia cards and i don't really like being stuck with one company.
  2. nvidia hasn't always had such a low tdp compared to amd/ati. even if you look at the 780/780ti they use 250W which is 50W lower than the 290x. that's a difference of 0.25 kWh if you use it at full performance for 5 hours which is close to nothing imo
  3. that's true that's why i didn't list any of the titans. i for one would still prefer to buy a single card that has the performance of 2 weaker cards even if that single card should cost a bit more than the 2 weaker ones combined simply because of sli problems of tipple A titles (i am looking at you ubish... i mean ubisoft) and because of less space being used with only one card and less heat output. this is not the case with 980 vs 970 sli because the 980 is just a tad better than the 970 but i hope you get the idea
  4. though to be honest they already have cards that compare to the 900 series in terms of performance. 285x~gtx 960 290x~gtx 970 295x2 is about 100€ more expensive than the gtx 980 but also outperforms it quite a bit. I really do hope the 3xx series is gonna beat the 900 series from nvidia.
  5. it's not only about GHz and cores when i comes to cpu but more importantly the architecture of the cpu. therefore most haswells probably would beat the top tier amd cpus
  6. afaik the cheapest 1080p g-sync monitor is the aoc g2460pg.
  7. i would chose the second option since a gtx 970 can run games pretty well at 1440p for now and then upgrade when it starts struggling to a newer generation.
  8. yet he probably still payed less than he would have if he bought from "legit" sites. though i still think g2a is legit too. I have been buying codes from them and they always worked fine and none of them got disabled.
  9. but if it's a dollar note that looks identical to a real one and the person that gave it to you said it was a real one how are you supposed to know it's fake?
  10. it's not me doing the "illegal" action so they shouldn't punish the buyers rather the ones that sell them
  11. And again Ubisoft keeps on digging if this is true. I still have my games in the library and hopefully they will stay there.
  12. to my knowledge a die shrink (tick) results in lower TDP for the same process thus less heat output. a change of micro architecture (tock) is when a bigger performance leap occurs and usually also when a new socket is introduced.
  13. i would go for the 4790 instead of the 4770 other than that it's good
  14. intel broadwell won't be too much of a performance leap since it's the tick- (die shrink-) generation. With amd's r9 300 series it's not really known yet.
  15. definately earphones i love good sound and i love listening to music while playing. mouse would be second.
  16. Hi guys, I want to buy a macbook air and i've found the base model at a local store for 850euro but i am afraid the 4GB of ram will not be enough and since the 8GB model comes only with a 256GB ssd which i don't need i would have to buy on the apple site where it is 250 euro more expensive. I will be using it for everyday tasks (safari, some light java and c programming for school, listening to music, watching videos, ms word, ms powerpoint, ....) but not for music creating and photo/videoediting. So do you think 4GB ram is going to be enough for those tasks or should i get 8GB for the 250 euro?
  17. don't you want to install windows on your usb-drive?
  18. not sure for windows because it probably is too big for 64bg but you can definately do so with i think any linux distro.
  19. do they ship to germany if you get any invites or if they do anymore of those pre-order events?
  20. afaik the only big difference is the design of them and since ubuntu is the most used it also has a lot of information on how to do things. i would say for the beginning pick a ubuntu based distro you like the design of until you get the hang out how things work in linux and then change if you want.
