  1. No, unfortunately. Again, this is my first build so I have'nt acumalated other parts/ components to be able to test these things. Would it make sense for the power supply to be the main culprit then?
  2. PC Specs:- CPU: i7-4790K Cooler: Corsair H105 MoBo: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX RAM: Kingston Fury 16GB DDR3 SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 PSU: Corsair 750W Semi-Modular Case: NZXT H440 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KVb9P6 - Hello, I'm hoping you can help me with a concern I have with my PC. The persisting issue I have is that over the last week or so my computer has been crashing without warning, however the system does not completely shut down and refuses to boot up properly after turning it off by holding down the power button. When I say it doesn't shut down properly, I mean when this 'crash' happens, the front case fans continue to spin and the LED NZXT logo on my case stays illuminated. I also have a Corsair H105 water cooling unit and the light on the CPU block turns off including the 2 mounted radiator fans and the rear case fan. It's only after a period of waiting before the system boots as normal and everything runs smoothly until boom... another crash with the same outcome. The crash could occur anywhere between a few minutes to an hour or even more. If I had to think about times when this has happened specifically, it seems to occur the most when I am viewing content on either on twitch or YouTube which is strange to me, and once or twice whilst gaming but I don't want to bring it completely down to this because it's just an observation I have had but I don't want to rule it out down to chance. This is a very new problem I have been having but I know that something just isn't right and I'm wondering what the problem could be and what I can do to diagnose the issue. I built the system late January/ early Ferbruary and everything has run pretty well until now. This being my first PC build I'm not very knowlegable when it comes down to the nitty gritty technical stuff and I only know about the components I have researched and in turn used in this build, so if there is anything you need to know about the computer (temperatures when idle/ under load etc.) please ask and I will provide you with the information required. Again this is a very new system so I decided to post this now before leaving it to continue any longer. Thank you in advance! PS. I have attached a photo of the interior of my PC for reference (should you need it)
  3. The only thing I can narrow this down too is the fact that I tried moving my library files from my SSD (that I use for windows and booting primarily) to my 1TB Hard Drive. In doing so the files seem to have all merged and contain exactly the same files and folders. I have now lost some documents including photoshop projects that I cannot recover because of this and I don't want to touch anything until I can find a solution from someone who knows what they're talking about. These were the instructions I initially followed if this helps? http://www.pcworld.com/article/2025058/answer-line-move-data-files-from-an-ssd-to-a-hard-drive.html - I really just want to restore these folders back to how they were before I did this process now as all it has done is hinder my system, if anything! Your help would be greatly appreciated here as I'm not sure what to do and I'm starting to run out of options
  4. How do I reverse this problem? I managed to move my downloads, documents, desktop and music before realizing that these files were merging instead of doing what I intended. I was following a instructions as I wanted to move my basic files from my SSD to my Hard Drive. The process of which was by "C:\Users\MyName" > Right click on a folder (i.e Downloads) > Click "Properties" > Click "Location" Tab > Click "Move" > Select your secondary hard-drive and so on for each document, but in doing so they have become merged. How do I fix this? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Is it possible to get a windows 8.1 64 bit product key for free? I've quite literally just finished building my new PC but don't want to pay full price for windows 8 because I do not need a hard copy as I will not be using an optical disc drive and cannot find anywhere that has keys in stock as they are much more affordable and sell very quickly. I was wondering if there is a possibility that I can find a product key to use free of charge as waiting for dispatch on a key is something I cannot afford to do. Your help would be greatly appreciated
  6. That should be fine. Does it come with some form of disc based installation as my build does not include an optical drive?
  7. I can't really specify. As cheap as it needs to be for a basic wifi signal really. I live in the UK and I've just spent £1300 on my first build so the connection has been last on my list as I didn't opt for a wifi enabled motherboard. I don't know anything about the networking side of things but I really don't want to spend much.
  8. Wired isn't an option for me so what is my best cheap and cheerful wifi card or USB choice?
  9. Can someone link me a backplate for this card if possible? I made the mistake in ordering this over the G1 and I wanted to know what my options were for back plates (if any)
  10. I was originally going for an all white and black build so the Krait seemed like a good option for me but having looked into reviews it doesn't seem to offer a lot and in fact the performance drop off seems pretty significant! Is the Asus Z97-AR a better option as it seems like the next best thing as far as performance and the nearest thing to a black and white board in this price range. What are your thoughts?
  11. My case for my first build eliminates the use of optical drive bays so how do I get the information off the various software discs I will need onto my new system?
  12. Thanks everyone. Seems like I've found my answer! Definitely doesn't look like its worth the hassle of returning the item
