  1. CPU: FX-6300 GPU: Strix GTX960 (factory OC) RAM: 8GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz (HyperX Fury) Score: 3.1
  2. It says that partition is in use and i need to use override parameter as in the picture. Also, I was looking up the override parameter and I found this: https://technet.microsoft.com/pl-pl/library/cc730824%28v=ws.10%29.aspx which says that using it might corrupt the whole drive. How safe is it for my HDD to delete the partition this way?
  3. Wouldn't DISKPART clean the whole HDD and not just the partition that I want? I only used it to change a bunch of discs to the format accepted by W7 (GPT to MBR iirc), but I was always cleaning up everything. If there is a way to clean only one partition, it'd work for me, I guess.
  4. I thought it would be a simple issue, but alas, it's not. So, I have to ask for help. My old install of Windows 10 (upgraded from Win7) became a mess recently, with a lot of driver issues. So, I've decided to do a fresh reinstall. I also bought an SSD (256gb basic Samsung). I installed fresh system on it and wanted to format my old HDD to get that 1TB of storage. It used to be 3 partitions: 250gb windows, 500gb for games and stuff, 250gb for mostly torrents and other crap. Second and third partitions I did a format no problems. The issue is with the old Windows (C:) partition. I can't format it through disk management and everytime I boot up, I have to choose the new installation of windows which pretty much doubles the boot time. The question is: how do I format that partition and get rid of the old windows installation?
  5. Looks like installing a GTX 960 solved the problem. Hope I'll get my money back and will never touch AMD again.
  6. First, my PC. I built it a year ago, a standard budget setup - AMD FX-6300, ASUS R9 270, Corsair CX500, 8Gb of HyperX Fury RAM, Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD, and it's all sitting on an ASUS M5A78L motherboard. It's not a beast, but enough for me. Now we come to the issue part of this post. I've installed Catalyst 15.7 drivers right after they were released, so maybe 10-12 days ago and there were no problems whatsoever. This morning I was playing Hearthstone and it started throwing some artifacts on the screen. I thought it was due to the temperature, so I took the computer apart, cleaned it up and changed thermal compound on both CPU and GPU (even though they were running at 65-70 degrees celsius max anyways, no overclocking). 5 minutes after I booted it up again, this happened: http://i.imgur.com/FAQfopR.jpg Then it went to black and back to normal after a few seconds, but an alert popped up (not the exact words, but you'll know which one it is): "AMD drivers stopped responding, but it's back to normal". Before I managed to check what could be causing it, my PC rebooted and kept getting stuck on loading screen with artifacts as can be seen here: http://imgur.com/7sFZ91z,AzvYQzt#0 I've tried booting it up 3 times, but each time it was getting stuck at the same moment, just different artifact patterns. It also kept going black and back to the loading screen again every few seconds. So, I started the computer up in troubleshooting mode (or emergency mode? not sure of the english name). I used Display Driver Uninstaller (ex-Driver Sweeper) to uninstall the Catalyst drivers and it booted up normally. So, i installed the 15.7 drivers again and the same thing as before happened. So, I went into windows troubleshooting mode again, uninstalled the drivers and now here I am, with no display drivers, wondering whether I should install an older driver version, or maybe it's pointless because it's a HDD failure? Or maybe a GPU issue? No idea, I hope you can help me out with this, since google search comes up empty. EDIT: Just noticed I forgot to say what my OS is. It's Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit (original). EDIT #2: Tried installing an older driver version (14.9) and it's the same issue...
  7. 1. Terran / Protoss 2. Masters / Diamond respectively 3. EU, but I also play on NA and KR 4. 1st gen BlackWidow, because that was the only one mechanical available on the market a few years back and; Razer DeathAdder 2014, because I won a discount code and it was super cheap, but I'm thinking about selling it and getting an Abyssus or Zowie Mico. For mousepad, I've got a big MLG edition SteelSeries, because it was the cheapest soft mat I could find when my Goliathus got worn out.
  8. Hello, I'm planning to build a PC in the next 2-3 weeks. Budget is ~2100PLN (~$500-550 due to high taxes in Poland). My knowledge about PC hardware is high-average, so I decided to get some feedback from much more knowledgeable people before I spend my money. I consider myself a casual, but competitive gamer, I play DotA2 at around 3.5k+ MMR and SC2 in Diamond (it's hard on a laptop with ~25-30 fps...). When time allows, I also enjoy me some TSW, Far Cry 3, F1 2013, GTA IV, etc., so I'd like to be able to play those at comfortable 1080p 60fps with at least medium-high settings. I also need at least 8 GB of RAM for my Photoshop, Guitar Rig, SAS, SAP and BPMN/EPC modelling software. What I do have, and don't need to spend money on: OS: Original OEM Windows 7 HE + Can get a free 2 year license of Windows 8.1 Pro from MSDN AA Sound Card: Asus Xonar U7 + Line6 POD X3 Live Peripherals: 1st gen BlackWidow, DeathAdder and a 5 year old Asus 24' monitor (16:9, 1080p max) External HDD: WD My Passport, 1TB, USB 3.0 What I'm planning to buy: Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: Asus Radeon R9 270 OC DirectCU II 2GB DDR5 PCI-E BOX PSU: Corsair CX500 500W 80+ Bronze RAM: Corsair DDR3 2x4096MB 1600MHz CL9.0 XMP Vengeance LP HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 (3.5", 1TB, 64MB, SATA/600) Case: Cooler Master N300 DVD Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST Please note, that this build is my maximum in terms of budget. Another thing is, I'm from Poland, so manufacturers like Fractal, NXT or XFX are not available on the market. I will also need at least 1 front-panel case USB 3.0 slot for my external HDD. Now, the questions that I have: Can I get a better value on GPU and/or Motherboard? I chose ASUS because I have very good experience with their products, but there might be some cheaper manufacturers with just as good specs. Can I save money anywhere else without sacrificing performance? I'm totally green on the HDD field, what's the best 1TB storage in 200PLN (~$65) price range? I have ~2,5 grams of Arctic Cooling MX2 thermal compound left. It's been laying around for around 3-4 months (I changed compund on my laptop CPU and GPU). Is it still good and should I use it on the CPU or not? I've noticed that Linus doesn't use it on the build videos that I've watched and I'm a bit confused. I don't have the funds right now, but is it worth getting an SSD when I scrap enough in 2-3 months time? If yes, what size is the best value and what should I put on it: OS or games? Let's say that I decide to OC CPU and/or GPU in the future. Are the motherboard and PSU good enough, and what would I need to add in terms of cooling? What are your overall thoughts on that rig?
