  1. Unfortunently the CMOS idea didnt' work, any other ideas?
  2. I've tried using some old sticks of ram, my idea was that it would detect new hardware and then restart but that didn't work, as for the cmos battery, I've unplugged the system yes when removing but I didn't wait five minutes like you said, I will be updating soon to see if that fixed it,
  3. Hello! I switched a few parts for my PC and it I booted into windows just fine. But when I went to over clock my ram it wont post anymore. I tried shorting my two pins to restart the BIOS settings but it won't work! Here's what happend and here are the parts! AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ASUS PRIME B450 - PLUS 16GB of GSKILL 3600MHZ CL 16 RAM GTX 1070 ZOTAC 500 GB SAMSUNG m.2 SSD 1TB Caviar Black 4TB Caviar Blue I Booted into windows just fine installed updated new BIOS, after that rebooted, went into BIOS to increase memory frequncy to 3000mhz, worked fine, tried 3600mhz and it started to boot loop, which is fine because I could still acsess the BIOS, after that I turned it down to 3466mhz (I think it's somewhere around there) and now I don't get a post screen! I tried shorting the two pins to restart the BIOS and it wouldn't work! I also tried taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in and that also didn't work! I really need some help I've been on this for hours!
  4. I really don't mean to bump this thread, but I still haven't found the issue with this PC. I've reinstalled windows AGAIN with a new boot drive, thinking that the drive could be corrupted but that didn't fix it. If I could send it to Linus I would
  5. Before starting this post, I need to apologize because I've posted about this PC before and you all gave me good suggestions but doing after all of them I simply became aggravated with it and just quit with diagnosing it and just continued using it. I've built this PC around June of 2017 and here was the parts list: Ryzen 5 1600 MSI A320 Mother Board 16 GB of Crucial Ballistix Ram 2133 Zotac GTX 1070 WD 250BG SSD WD Caviar Black 1TB Cryorg H7 Corsair Carbide 100R EVGA 450B PSU You know a pretty good PC, but when I finished installing windows and installed all the drivers and what not it was horrible. I stuttered in literally every game. (Aparently there was a dirver I was missing for the first few months the AM4 drivers.) After installing that everything was a lot better. But it wasn't perfect. There were a few things that would happen with this PC: - There would be a 1/20 chance when opening file explorer it would say "working on it for about 5-10 seconds" before actually showing my drives. - YouTube would SKIP frames and stutter (especially on my second monitor) and for what ever reason on my second monitor if I try to forward the video by one second, it would give me a loading pinwheel for about five seconds, even though it has CLEARLY buffered the video. Doesn't happen all the time though. - On OSU, (mainly in song selection and edit mode) it would skip frames and stutter, and would be most noticeable from the timeline on top of the screen when it's automatically playing the song. - In League it would skip frames, it's not too noticeable unless you are really looking for it so it's not too bad but it's quite annoying. - If I try to stream league my frame rate drops drastically, so I just quit that. - YouTube thumbnails would take a second or two to actually load rather than it loading instantly. - For what ever reason Minecraft is just a stuttering mess for the first like 3 minutes (idk I don't play that much but enough to mention it.) - And simply micro stuttering on most games that I play on occasion from steam. Here is what I've tried: - Swapped out Ram for something that was on the RAM compatibility list for my motherboard (I didn't know that was a thing). Switched to Corsair Value Select that was on the list and didn't fix the issue. (Also started to make my PC blue screen after a month I got it so that ended up as a DOA.) - Swapped out the motherboard to a GIGABYTE GA-AB350M (ended up keeping) and that didn't fix the issue. - I reinstalled windows to different drives so see if that was the issue and booting of off them. That didn't work. - Disconnected other drives except the windows one. - Someone mentioning that my PSU wattage was too low, so I ordered a Corsair CX650M, nu-uh. (Kept it though it looked nice.) - I knew it wasn't my GTX 1070 because I got it before everything else so I installed it in my old PC before I got everything else and it wasn't giving me any of these issues. - Bought a i7-7700t and a B250 board (I know my mistake should have gotten a different chipset) and even after THAT it didn't work. - Removed the 1070 and used intel HD graphics (didn't have a spare card) and that didn't work. - I've switched modems between both my new and old PC's and that wasn't causing the issue. I've literally replaced my entire PC and it wasn't solving my issue, temps are not the problem, I've installed windows a million times after trying each attempt, I know my RAM is a bit slow but it shouldn't be causing these kinds of issues where it struggles on WINDOWS. Help my please I think that's everything.
  6. So I've reinstalled windows and for what ever reason, when I turn on my pc, I have 2 volumes and I dont know why. Volume 3 takes me to windows, volume 7 doesn't do anything and then crashes and goes to automatic repair. It doesn't effect anything it'll just take a bit longer to boot because I'll have to manually click something.
  7. So I'm using two different PCs yo build one great pc but there's a small issue that I'm having. Typically when I build a pc there's stand off screws that come with the case but since I'm using a prebuilt I don't have standoffs, instead I have these weird 'install point bumps' is it alright to install a mother board to that because I feel like it will short the mobo. Help?
  8. I mean if you're only 7 to 8 meters away I would probably get an Ethernet cable, I don't know if your living conditions allows you to use one but I would see if that would fix the issue. At my old place I had a 100ft ethernet cable that ran from the first floor to the basement. I taped the cable to the corner of each room I used to get to my room so no one would trip on it.
  9. Before I get started on this thread, let me explain that THIS IS NOT A HOW TO GUIDE! Although I will not stop you from attempting this, who knows if this will work for other people. About three years ago I was sitting in my apartment and my parents explained to me that they were going over seas to Iraq to visit family and they told me that I had to live with my sisters for about a month or two. Me being very uspet because I hate all of my sisters and being forced to live with them was not ideal I painfully explained that I didn't want to live with them and I was totally old enough to live on my own or with a single sister at the apartment, they didn't agree, damn. But before we left to the hell hole my mom told me to call Comcast and tell them that I had to say that we won't be living here for the next few months and we told them to temporarily disconnect our internet so we won't get billed because no one is going to use the internet and it'll be a waste of money. So I called them and I said "In around two weeks can you disconnect the internet no one is going to be at this residence." Comcast agreed and told me that they were going to do that. Good, I'll be on my way. FOUR MONTHS LATER AND ALMOST WANTING TO DIE My sisters and I thought it would be nice to go back to the apartment to go clean it up a bit before my parents came home a week later. We head inside and clean or what ever, until something caught my eye. I looked at the modem lights and they were EXACTLY the same. "Weird." I thought "Didn't we disconnect our internet?" My sisters agreed that I did because they were near me at the time making sure I didn't screw anything up. I then went down stairs near the entrance of the building and checked the mail to see the mountain of mail we've received. Not a single bill. "Did Comcast not disconnect our internet and just decided to not bill us because it'll be easier?" .... Maybe? I don't know. The reason why I decided to share with this with you guys now is that they finally cracked down on us not getting billed. Although they didn't say so they just said that they just disconnected it and that was that. I didn't want to share this information because I don't know if the FBI was going to crack down on me or something. I'm pretty upset now that I have to start paying again, In total I saved $2160. Just thought I'd share! (Also if you end up trying this please let me know the results, maybe we can start a trend here.)
  10. Try replacing the thermal paste. If you can, try with something more premium.
