  1. No, sorry. What I mentioned was user perceptible.... Maybe Latencymon.
  2. I don't know about your chip in particular, but I can say from personal experience with my two FX-8000 class cpus, that C-State add latency and often the cpus won't hit OC speed if c-state is enabled. Hope this is helpful.
  3. OC that 8350! You should be doing a lot better, and should be able to OC to at least 4.5 Ghz easy. I've an 8350, see my score at https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/558807-post-your-steamvr-performance-test-results-here/?page=203&tab=comments#comment-7510484
  4. Lately I've also had the thought that maybe Microsoft/Game Devs could somehow force it to work with the lower level DX12 API... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ EDIT: Because it's a protocol...
  5. Ok @Kloaked, forgive me for getting excited by the wording " Other key benefits of DisplayPort Alt Mode include: Ability to drive native DisplayPort and DisplayPort Alt Mode displays, as well as HDMI, VGA and DVI displays; Ability to drive multiple displays, using the DisplayPort Multi-Stream protocol through a dock or daisy-chained displays, or for virtual reality (VR) display applications; Support for Adaptive Sync, which provides smoother, tear-free images for gaming and jitter-free video playback, as well as significantly reduces power consumption for static desktop content and low frame rate video" To me this bit of the compliance spec got me excited that it would be a requirement for "Alt Mode". Whatever... Here's to pipe dreams!
  6. It's a religious response because it is a blanket answer that ignores any possibility of a workaround, or possibility of contrary facts. Sorry if I was unclear, in my original post, but I'm looking for hands on/testing info... I don't want to buy a 10xx series just to test this, and was hoping someone would get inspired and try to figure out a workaround or if someone had already tried it they could share there results.
  7. That is not a scientific response, that's a religious response.
  8. Have you tested it? B/c I'm looking to decide whether or not a 10xx series card would be interesting for a upgrade.
  9. "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeSync#Adaptive-Sync" "FreeSync is a hardware/software solution that utilizes DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync protocols", therefore all Nvidia has to do is support the protocol.
  10. Just one of the quote that got my attention and why I'm asking for hands on info. " Other key benefits of DisplayPort Alt Mode include:... Support for Adaptive Sync..."
  11. Hi all, I just ordered a 144hz monitor with "Freesync" (VESA's Adaptive Sync) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BV1XBEI/ . So I've got a GTX 908 Ti, and don't expect VESA's Adaptive Sync to work over the 980ti's DP1.2 port. Does anyone have a GTX 10xx card, with DP 1.4? VESA is not being explicit in the public docs I've read, as to whether or not DP 1.4 compliance requires support of Adaptive Sync. It looks like it is in "DisplayPort Alt Mode" (see https://www.vesa.org/featured-articles/vesa-launches-full-compliance-test-spec-for-usb-type-c-devices-using-displayport-alt-mode/ ). Any hands-on/inside info would be great! Thanks Guys and Girls!
  12. I'm getting some weird behavior out of an AMD FX-8350. I can always run it at 4.6 Ghz with 1.44v vcore. Now for the weird part, I can make it stable at 4.8 Ghz with 1.475v on vcore and nb voltage at 1.1250, but if I push it further say 4.9 Ghz or 5 Ghz which is unstable, if I try to go back to 4.8 Ghz at 1.475 vcore and 1.1250v nb it's no longer stable. Weird... right? So, to get back to 4.8 Ghz, I've got to spend some time at 4.6. Then after, days... weeks... I'll be able to go back to 4.8 Ghz at above voltages. Thoughts? Thanks. I just thought I'd share.
