Hi

This thread was originally about AMD's 7000 and Rx 200 series and how some cards were rebranded. Anyway, I decided to add some more cards here. Some from NVIDIA too. The original list is below.

HD 7770 GHz Edition -> R7 250X (Cape Verde XT)

HD 7790 -> R7 260, R7 260X (Bonaire)*

HD 7850 -> R7 265 (Pitcairn PRO, rebranded to Curaçao PRO)

HD 7870 -> R9 270 (Pitcairn XT, rebranded to Curaçao PRO)

HD 7870 GHz Edition -> R9 270X (Pitcairn XT, rebranded to Curaçao XT)

HD 7950 -> R9 280 (Tahiti PRO)

HD 7970 GHz Edition -> R9 280X (Tahiti XT2)

HD 8570 -> R5 240, R7 240 (Oland)

HD 8670 -> R7 250 (Oland PRO)

All of these GCN 1.0 cores, except the R7 260 & 260X, which became GCN 1.1

*7790 used the Bonaire XT chip, while the 260 used Bonaire and the 260X used Bonaire XTX. 260 & 260X have TrueAudio enabled.

These are the rebrands in AMD's new 300 series. All cards are rebrands except the Fury series.

R7 250 -> R7 350, R7 340, R5 340 (OEM) (Oland XT)

R7 260 -> R7 360 (Bonaire -> Tobago PRO)

R9 270 -> R9 370 (Curaçao PRO -> Trinidad PRO)

R9 285 -> R9 380 (Tonga PRO -> Antigua PRO)

R9 290 -> R9 390 (Hawaii PRO -> Grenada PRO)

R9 290X -> R9 390X (Hawaii XT -> Grenada XT)

Anyway, I'll start with some low-end cards from NVIDIA. They're well-known for doing that.

510 -> 605 (Fermi GF119)

GT520 -> GT610, GT620 (OEM), 705 (Fermi GF119)

GT530 -> GT620 (retail) (Fermi GF119)

GT440 (DDR3) -> GT630 (DDR3), GT730 (DDR3, 128-bit) (Fermi GF108)

GT440 (GDDR5) -> GT630 (GDDR5) (Fermi GF108)

GT545 (DDR3) -> GT640 (OEM) (Fermi GF116)

GTX560 SE (OEM) -> GT645 (Fermi GF114-400-A1)

GT630 (Kepler) -> GT740 (Kepler GK107)

GT630 (Kepler rev 2) -> GT710, GT720, GT730 (128-bit & GDDR5) (Kepler GK208)

210 -> 405 (OEM) (Tesla GT218)

Now for some high-end stuff, also from the green team. Not really a lot.

GTX670 -> GTX760 (Kepler GK104)

GTX680 -> GTX770 (Kepler GK104)
