Any more AM3+ motherboards to come for 2014/2015?.

Hi guys. I am new to Linus tech tips and these sort of forums. I hope I am doing this right!. Please bear with me if I am not. Okay, I have a query and I need to know where I stand with Am3+ motherboards. I currently have an FX-9590 cpu on an Asus Crosshair V formula Z motherboard (which I purchased in mid September 2012). I love this motherboard, but it is 2 years old now and starting to show it's age. It cant compete with the latest intel LGA1150 and 2011-13 motherboards. I really want to know if AMD and their partners are going to release an updated version of the AM3+ motherboards, ie - with PCIE3 lanes, etc?. I have been reading various articles wrt the new AMD K12/X86 cpu and the AMD vp said it is definitely going to be released in March 2016, although he also said the next 18 months are going to be a tough time for AMD. I really hope AMD kick ass with their new cpu (they are ditching modular design and going back to traditional cpu architecture).

I am in a bit of a pickle now. If AMD don't release any new AM3+ motherboards then they are going to lose a lot of AMD fans (possibly myself included). If I continue using my rig until March 2016, then upgrade to the new K12 cpu and AM4 mobo, then my current cpu and mobo will have very poor resale value on ebay (post March 2016). So I am now think perhaps I should go to intel in the interim. I'm thinking to either go for a 4790K (£250 on Amazon) or a 5930K (£420 on Novatech). I do a lot of video editing and gaming, so which one to go for?. On the one hand I 'm thinking to go for the cheaper option (4790K + LGA1150 Asus Maximus 7 Hero for £150, total is £400) as a stop gap until new AMD cpu and AM4 mobos are released. On other hand, should I go for performance (5930K) but that will be much more expensive?. But first of all I need to know if AMD are going to release any new or updated AM3+ motherboards in 2014 or 2015?. I would appreciate your help guys!.

If you have the Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard, you have pretty much maxed out for the best am3+ motherboard, I am not aware of any refresh motherboards to be released for the AM3+ line, however if your motherboard does die, you can either get a new one, switch platforms (as you said, which would be the most logical option) or purchase the sabertooth 990fx, which is what I use.
