  1. Just FYI on Volta cables and the company in general - Never buy anything from them. End of 2022 I bought cables and tips. Had 1 issue and they send me a replacement. OK End of 2023 I bought a set of USB-C tips for Volta 2.0 cables as I lost/destroyed my previous tips. 6 months later (yesterday) they told me that they can't fulfill my order as they will no longer restocking. They offer to send me their USB-C Spark tips + a bonus cable Spark, which does not work for me as most of my chargers/plugs are USB-A and the Spark is USB-C, but I doubt they will fulfill even this one as everything on their site is Out of Stock. I requested a refund. We will see what happens.
  2. I would love to see a sponsored video with Shelly (https://shelly.cloud/) for Home Automation. LTT content in regards to Home Automation is very lacking, and I hope that you will have a Home Automation enthusiast in the Labs team, to test out crazy home automations, as that market is such a gigantic mess and LTT bringing more information about Home Automation will be great. So maybe a sponsored video where LTT integrates some of Shellys solution for home automation in the Labs building or even in the Labs testing suit. I've bought a few things from them, so far so good. One lamp had coil wine, and after 1-2 quick emails they send me a coupon to purchase a new one for free (so I keep the old one too). Also they are based in Bulgaria (my country), so that is a huge plus for me.
  3. Not really a complaint, but was this agreed with FlexiSpot? Also this clip that is on the product page: Unfortunately I missed the time window to buy the product I liked (the E8 frame), lucky that Honey go me some discount, but it's not as much.
  4. On my Right angle cable - the inner part of the cable tip (not connector) just slides out and stops working. Try pressing it in. I'll have to apply some glue to my cable to stop popping out. Also check if some metal shavings or other debris got lodged inside the connector tip, as that will prevent the cable to go in fully, and it will not charge. (my experience). Unfortunately they are very hard to clean. I need to get some compressed air.
  5. Update: Volta came back to me. They agreed to send me a new tip. In my mail to them I suggested that they can ship the replacement tip with a new order I was planning to make (at this point I'm all-in with their cables ... ) They replied with an Invoice that included the Free replacement tip and the items that I wanted to order (kind of). One item was not the one I wanted (wrong length I think). I wanted to change the item and even include another one, but they said that it's not possible as the order was already Shipped ... before I paid it ... so wierd And on top of everything they shipped MORE items than included in the invoice. We will see what happens when the shipment arrives at our customs They said that I should pay the original invoice, regardless what is stated in the package, so I did. TLDR: I will get a free replacement tip - no issues. They are not ill intentioned, but the world shipping mess is wreaking havoc in their organization and it's pretty chaotic. Update on 200W charger - I received a tracking number for one of my "LTT Special" contributions. Still waiting for the other one (but that one is ordered to the UK, as it's for a friend)
  6. After a LTT sponsor spot with a special promo for the new 200W charger (Indiegogo campaign) I bought two (one for me and one for a friend in the UK), and I bought a few cables and tips. Chargers are yet to come, they send some emails with shipping updates, but they have problems and I don't think it will come any time soon. Cables work fine for me. But I dropped my phone once, and because the tip sticks out, even from my rugged Samsung case, it took the brunt of the impact and got disintegrated (pretty brittle plastic imho). The Volta SPARK cable tip came with a defect, the chrome plating was chipped and pealed away in a huge spot. The magnetic "metal" below is not hard at all and you can scrape it with a finger, which produces magnetized powder residue ... nice. I'm writing to their support to ask for a replacement right now. The design of the normal VOLTA 2.0 cables is not very good. Just from a few weeks of use my phone tip connector got jammed with metal particles which interferes with the proper connection and the cable does not fit all the way in. I'll have to try cleaning it with some sticky jelly/putty or very strong compressed air. Overall I would not recommend this company or any magnetic cables really. You lock yourself to a certain brand and need to keep purchasing their expensive cables and tips. I think the cables will last for a long time, but the tips - not so much.
  7. Yes, I can mount a fan on the side, but it's right at the level of the GPU. Also at the bottom of the case there is a fan mount. Maybe I'm going to split the CPU PWM between the CPU fan and rear Chassis fan. And move the current rear fan to the bottom as second intake. The C14 is 15-20$ more expensive than the U9S. It does have a better cooling capability, especially if you put a second fan. But because of the height I would either need to put the fan almost right against the side panel or put it at the bottom position where I think I will have problems with RAM clearance as the slots are right next to the CPU. With the U9S it seams that the fan will be almost directly at the back of the case, I don't see a point having a fan blow into another fan. I'll experiment with just switching the cooler and moving the back fan to be bottom intake. Thanks.
  8. Hi I wish to replace one of the chassis fans, or both, of my old build, but I'm confused what fan is the right fan. I have an old K350 Cooler master case with stock front fan (700 RPM) and a very quiet, (but not doing a lot) fan at the back for exhaust (1000rpm / 41CFM). On my ASUS B85M-E I only have 1 CPU PWM fan header and two chassis fan headers. I have a Intel i5-4670 (non K) and ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX580 The GPU is very big (it does not fit in the top PCI slot as the CD/DVD drive cage is in the way), it almost completely blocks the air from the bottom section. So the top section of the case gets pretty hot. 1. New intake or new exhaust? 2. Do I get the FLX or 5V version of the fan? The current fans are 3 pin, but the headers have 4 pins and I'm a bit confused what the purpose of the currently unused 4th pin is (it's called "+5V" ). See attached image. 3. I also wish to change the stupid Intel stock cooler as it drives me mad when it ramps up. NH-U9S, NH-D9L, NH-L9x65 - Price is similar, and all would fit in this case. I'm leaning more towards the U9S, as it's bigger and can be equipped with 2nd fan when I eventually move to a new and more powerful CPU. The main goal is cooler and quieter PC. As I wish to OC the GPU, and I would preffer to do What do you think?
  9. YT just sent me to a dude who made a console controller with a build in mouse ("thumb mouse") instead of a aim joystick. Link: Looks pretty dope, no idea how legit it is. Would be cool video for someone from LTT to try it out. It is a very prototype looking thing, but looks pretty usable. I'm not related to the YT person at all. Just found it and thought it cool.
  10. Unfortunately I do not have a third power cable for the SATA. One goes to the SSD and one goes to the two HDDs. I have a free Molex, maybe I can find an adapter? Not sure if this will fix the issue.
  11. So I just started my PC, and then the FAH (I turned off the autostart somehow). It's on Medium, and almost immediately it started making the noise. Yesterday I noticed it got really bad when I started watching a movie from that hard drive. I Paused FAH, watched without problems. Also all the torrents are on that drive, and right now on FULL and all torrents stopped - no sound. Only movie - no issue. Only torrents and movie - no issue. Torrents and FAH - noise. Power? I have: Power Supply: Cooler Master Thunder 600W - RS-600-ACAB-D3 ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMING Intel Core i5-4670 @3.40GHz 1 SSD, 1HDD WD Black and this new WD Blue. and 2 fairly low RPM fans. BUT the WD Black and the WD Blue are on the same cable (goes through the Blue and then to the Black) I'll open up the case to see if I have a separate cable for each HDD. I do not have a HW monitor running at the moment. I have only ASUS AI Suite 3, but I had this one forever. I now remembered that this sound stared when I was trying to OC the GPU. I stopped the ASUS ROG software from running, so to use only the Radeon Software to OC. But because the beeping was worrying to me I'm currently using the Default settings.
  12. - No random crashes, not while folding and not while playing the new DOOM Eternal. - I'll test the slider. - I'll test with the WD Blue ON and WD Black off, and we will see. It's not a temperature problem. The case is not the best, but there is a fan intake with cool air right in front the HDD drives, and they were not warm to the touch. Also the problem starts almost immediately when max folding starts. Also: unfortunately my GPU is too big to fit on the first slot (with this quarantine I may bust out the dremmel and fix that :D), and also blocks some of my SATA 6Gb/s ports, so the problematic WD Blue is connected to a SATA 3Gb/s port.
  13. Hi All, I'm having a weird issue. My HDD seems to be beeping (sounds more like a short beep than a mechanical wurr) while Folding@Home is working. Some time ago I changed my broken GPU and installed a new HDD - WD Blue WDC WD40EZRZ (slow RPM) Since then whenever I crank up the Folding@Home I start hearing beeping from time to time. Previously I had a WD Black 1TB and a Samsung SSD 850 Evo 500GB (still installed) The new 4TB Blue drive is just for archive storage on my PC, movies, pictures etc. The Black and the SSD is for Games and Windows. The issue only occurs with Folding@Home, heavy copy/pasting, Torrent Read/Write does nothing, just wen there is active Folding. The drive is still in warranty, should I return it? Why is Folding@Home causing this problem? What would you recommend to test the drive with? Edit: Edited the post because it's definitely the new WD 4TB Blue drive.
  14. Yeah, I saw it a few hours ago and am still re-watching it And comparing prices. Considering how much the good 1440p cost (way out of my preferred budget) and the fact that with the current rig I will not be able to drive a lot of FPS at 1440p ... so sticking to 1080p gaming it is. I think I'm heading to the LG 27GL650F-B - Currently I find it for around 310 USD, which is 50ish USD lower than the ASUS. Also - I found a good deal for a 24GL600 - like 185 USD, but it's a TN, soooo I'll pass. Considering that in the near future this monitor may end up my main media player for a living room till I scruff up the money for a good TV. But here is the problem, didn't most people say 1080p - 27 inch is not good? I sit pretty far back from my monitor I doubt I'll have a problem with it ...
