  1. My parents have asked me to come up with parts for a new office PC they are building. I haven't looked at any new hardware since 2017, so I am kind of out of touch with what is currently available. So their budget it of around €600-€700 (not much more). The main purpose of this PC will be to run CAD programs, moslty AutoCAD & SketchUp. The requirements for AutoCAD aren't all that much, so maybe the budget is a little overkill, but they also need something that will last a good few years without major upgrades. They are going to be buying everything in Italy, as that's where they are based (pcpartpicker has an italian version too, luckily). So, what do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance.
  2. Would've been pretty cool though haha
  3. You've really got a pet gorilla? I'll try this if there aren't any other solutions. Would you know if vinegar would ruin/corrode the cables?
  4. The power cords of my two monitors and PC
  5. My cat decided it was a great idea to urinate on my setup's cables, and now it all smells like cat urine... I already cleaned them with ethanol (pink alcool), and while the filth is gone, the smell is still there (even if not as intense as before). Some sites said that using vinegar could work, but I suspect it may corrode the rubber. Other alternatives where using coffee or tea, which doesn't sound all that great. Any suggestions? Cheers.
  6. Could you recommend me some other stressing tools? I know Prime95 isn't good anymore as it gives unrealistic temps and whatnot.
  7. It's got a pretty beefy heatsink http://www.thermalright.de/kuehler/7/macho-rev.a-bw
  8. Why not? I often render stuff (Sony Vegas), so it'll help a bit. Plus, do you think it's a stable OC (looking at the above info)?
  9. I just overclocked my 4690k to 4.2GHz @1.200V I stress tested it for 15 minutes with Aida64, max temps where 70°C (package). Should I push for a higher OC (4.5ghz, possibly?) Cheers.
  10. I'll talk to my friend about it. When is the market release?
  11. The 280X should be fairly more powerful than the 1050, but it could possibly bottleneck a little, yeah
  12. Thank you! The 7970 isn't listed anywhere on craigslist-like sites here (local for me). I found a GTX 770 listed for €150, I could ask for €120 or lower.
