  1. i would like the touchscreen model. but could opt for the one without it. and you can upgrade the ram in the x1???
  2. so im guessing the thinkpad x1 is my best bet.. now i just need to find a place to buy one with the right specs.
  3. build quality is amazing. and this laptop needs to last.
  4. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x1-carbon/ or should i say what are the best options to choose?
  5. now i know the thinkpad has i believe 3 versions. which one should i get??? also my class is only 3 hours.. so i need it too last 3 hours which i believe every laptop can so that wouldn't be a problem. looking for more of performance than battery life
  6. ik the y50 is more towards gaming rather than work but the y50 has some crazy specs. although i wouldn't be using this laptop for gaming at all it will be strictly for work/school
  7. which laptop is a better work/school laptop? the lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon or the lenovo y50? i need something that will last at least 4 years and also run microsoft office no problem. something that is fast aswell. this will be strictly for work/school.
  8. this laptop will be strictly for school/work i have a gaming rig already so. and i dont have a budget if that laptop costs 1500 ill pay 1500. i just want to make sure im getting a very good laptop that can handle tough workloads and most important last me atleast 4 years.
  9. if its ok me asking why would a chromebook not be a good choice?
  10. hey everyone i'm in need of a strong work laptop that will last at least 4 years. most likely will be using microsoft office. the school requires that it runs windows but i went to bestbuy and i was looking at the chromebook and they looks really nice the best buy rep was telling me about the chromebooks and the things he was telling me sounded like there better than a regular windows laptop.. my question to everyone is, is a chromebook better than a regular windows laptop comparing to working and school work? if it is what would you guys recommend for a chromebook? if it isn't what do you guys recommend for a good powerful laptop for work? that obviously runs windows edit: sorry budget doesn't matter if i have to spend the money to get something real good and something that will last me atleast 4 years i will..
  11. this is probably a dumb question but if i get a mac can i uninstall the os and download windows?
  12. i really like the y50 but i feel like thats more towards gaming than rather work.. i have my own gaming rig so i find its not needed. the U430 doesnt look bad.
  13. good point. ill check out the laptops you listed above.
