Thought I'd share this as I'm sure you guys love catastrophic failures! Well, not a complete disaster. One pushrod on #5 snapped, generally they bend but best guess this one bound up against the guide plate and snapped. #4 piston seems to have leaned out, got really hot, expanded too far and the ring bound up and split the top of the piston. Great fun! Bore is a little bit messed up but it's fixable.

Just had the new 383 Chev running for the first time, straight out of the headers. I recorded it with my studio mic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0ifb92yqv71bmie/VetteWAV.wav?dl=0 Gotta love that cams note! Can't wait to have the new composite rear spring and the new sway bar in so it can be driven, when they actually arrive from the US... P.S. neighbors weren't happy P.S.S. it wasn't tuned so I will record with with the mufflers on and a tune.

The Stingray (1969 with a 350 SBC), I believe I had tagged you in a thread last year about it. I've got some pictures of the pistons before and after too, and I'll snap one of the engine once it's back together again. I made a post a couple of pages back but if you missed it here's a list of parts: Compcams Magnum 280H cam, 200cc Alloy Heads with a 64cc Combustion chamber (would've had 13-14:1 comp with the pistons it had), new pistons (10.7:1 @ 64cc) and 5.7 inch rods, ARP head studs and bolts, some exhaust parts (two hotdogs either side of the car in the form of side pipes), Full FelPro gasket set. Planning to buy the 600HP FiTech EFI kit next month.

So we pulled the pistons out and had a look at them, shaving the tops down to lower the compression was a bad idea (had to be done either way). The pistons were manufactured to save weight and have been cast with a small hollow under the hump. Probably only a few mm or so left of meat, instead of risking it I just purchased some new hypereutectic pistons with 10.7:1 compression with the 64cc chambers. Expecting about 450HP with this cam and head combo, probably 400 to 420 at the wheels and should be rather fun.

Hey guys, I'll upload some pictures later but we've made some progress with the C3 lately. Right now we've just ordered a couple grand worth of parts for the motor. New 210cc Alloy heads, Comp Cams Magnum 280H, Roller Rockers, Hotdog Muffler/Resonators (making up some sidepipes), Cold Air intake (Hillborn), ARP head bolts, and a few other parts. We've worked the pistons to lower their compression as we're moving from 73cc heads down to 64cc (raising compression by 0.9 alone). The previous owner must've thought it would be a good idea to throw in some forged lumpy top pistons which looked like they would've been good for 13:1 or higher comp. Some of them even had detonation marks and indents from where they must've had higher compression heads. Pretty much just ground down the hump in the piston and gave them a polish, I will upload pictures after work. Hopefully this motor will be good for 400 - 450 HP. EDIT: Also probably going to be pulling one of the pistons out to make sure the pistons have enough thickness from where we've ground down. It would suck to start it up just to blow a hole in a piston or two.

Nope not yet. Plus it would probably be taken down by Havok, who is now owned by Microsoft.

The only thing to worry about is whether or not we will be able to fix some issues. As you probably know we always had issues with a few things with the older GECK, and one underlying issue is that animations require the Havok Animation Suite which is unobtainable to the average joe. Plus right now the GECK is in Beta for a reason, it's rather clean and much faster and user friendly than the old ones but give them a few more weeks to polish and finish a few more things.

Updated my post again, yes 515 vs 577 PPI. Still I have a feeling that it may affect the outcome of the FOV due to the smaller screen, but I have a feeling also that the bump in PPI isn't enough. If they can bring a 4k panel to the market it would work perfectly, however it needs to run at 90Hz which is simply impossible on a phones GPU (for now).

I updated my post saying it was a Note 4, the S6 has the same resolution though? EDIT: Same resolution but Note 4 is larger with a 515 PPI panel and the S6 is 577 PPI
