No bootable partition in table (Windows 7 USB install)

Wotsy

Hey

I'm having some issues with installing windows 7 on my laptop.

This is what I did to get to the problem... I put windows 7 on my USB. I restarted and got to the bios. USB flash boot, opened the installation for windows. I could then format , like I was supposed to. But then it said, something like "you cannot install on this partition because it's a GPT partition"

I had to go so I turned my laptop off. Now I rebooted again, tried to boot from USB again but now it has come up with all kinds of weird errors I've never experienced.

Erros are: No bootable partition in table

and

Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected Boot device and press a key

I am clueless to what I am supposed to do now. My harddrive won't show up in bios either, just USB, CD/DVD ROm Drive and Windows Boot manager is in the list.

I hope any of you can help me.

Sincerely

Wotsy

However, simply copying the files from your Windows 7 DVD to a flash drive won't work. You have to specially prepare the USB device and then properly copy the Windows 7 install files to it before it'll work as you expect.

1.  Open command prompt (run as admin)

2.  type "diskpart" and hit enter

3.  type "list disk" and hit enter, you will be able to see by the size column which one is your usb stick

4.  Say its disk 2, type "select disk 2" and hit enter

5.  Wipe it by typing "clean" and hit enter

6.  When thats done type "create partition primary" hit enter

7.  type "select partition 1" and hit enter

8.  type "active" and hit enter

9.  type "format fs=fat32" and hit enter and let it run.

10.  type "assign" and hit enter

11.  copy all the files onto the usb drive.

Do that to make it a proper boot drive and try again.

Done that, now I can boot again from the USB. Only problem now is that I can't install on any of the partitions...

I formatted all of them , deleted and created new, but still getting this:

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style"

Since you are using GPT you are using a 3tb drive?

EDIT: nvm lol glad you got it working

Just 1TB.. The setup of the partitions was standard (didn't change anything since I bought my laptop)
