Outcasst's Achievements

  1. So, as an update, the board isn't dead. Took it over to a friend's house and tested his 6600K in and the board starts no problem. So it appears in this case, the board won't even start up without a CPU. Interesting.
  2. It's an AX850, so yeah the fan doesn't spin. But there are 5 fans connected directly to the motherboard which don't spin and also the POST code readout isn't lighting up either. Not trying to get in to the BIOS. Just trying to get the system to power on. I wanted to test the fans and the LED strip. Nothings powering on though apart from the motherboard RGBs and the motherboard power button.
  3. I've received my components for my new system, just waiting on the CPU. I'm trying to power on the Maximus IX Hero without a CPU installed. Every other motherboard I've tried to power on without a CPU works fine. Fans spin, and it just beeps at me as you would expect. However this board will not even turn the PSU on. Strange thing is, everything else is working. LAN Port flashes, BIOS flashback works and the onboard RGB LED's work fine. Granted, I've not built a system in a few years so have things changed?
  4. I love the clean sides of the phone as a result of them putting the main control buttons on the back.
  5. My favorite thing about the M8 is the much improved battery life compared to the M7.
  6. 1. As a boot drive, I run a Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB SSD. At the time of purchase, it got great reviews especially from Tiny Tom Logan at OC3D. It looks great, performs great and is made by a brand which I trust. I use the SSD to install all of my applications along with a select few games which I feel benefit the most from being installed on an SSD. In addition to this, I have two 2TB hard drives. The first is a WD Black Edition, which is mainly used for games that are too large to fit on the SSD and for Fraps recordings. I am not too concerned about backing up this drive since games can be downloaded again easily if they were lost. I chose the Black drive as it was the best performing 2TB drive at the time of purchase. The second 2TB drive is a WD Green. This is my storage drive which contains all important information along with music, movies, pictures and software installers that I have collected over the years. Backing up the data on the Green drive is extremely important to me so I have a 2TB ZyXEL NSA310 NAS to make sure that the data stays safe and is also accessible to other devices inside and outside of my network. I use a backup system called SyncToy by Microsoft. I have set it up to echo the Green drive to the NAS at 3AM every morning so that any changes that have been made in the 24 Hour time period are updated on the NAS. I chose the WD Green since it had great power consumption and was extremely quiet while still providing admirable performance. 2. @StevoLatham: https://twitter.com/StevoLatham/status/377802420677386240 3. =ETS= Outcasst: http://bit.ly/18PGnNz
