  1. The Power Supply Unit. The PSU does look very nice and unique; I love the fact that it is silent designed.
  2. I have been watching Linus since the old NCIX videos and unboxing videos; I've loved every second of it! Thanks for the amazing techy videos guys
  3. Thanks, probably going with that one then. Thanks again
  4. Just to clarify, you guys recommend me going with a 4790k or a 4690k over something like AMD's 8350 when it comes down to gaming and rendering etc? I will also definitely be buying a SSD (either with this lot or when I next have enough money) in the near future. I'm about to spend the most amount of money I've ever spent on computer parts and I just want to make sure that I'm actually going for the right parts instead of wasting my money. I appreciate all your help!
  5. To be very honest, I've always used AMD and never really thought about going with an intel CPU. I'll go and research on that CPU listed above and have a nice look at it; I really appreciate your advice on this! I'm guessing I should save for a SSD anyway
  6. Hello! Its that time again, time to upgrade! I have given a good look around and put together a list of things I think I should buy Here is it: CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory Storage: Seagate Pipeline HD 1TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card Case: Corsair 760T White ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RM 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) Here is the list on pcpartpicker: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qqmvD3 Please note that I have already purchased the graphics card, memory and storage. I am also planning on getting another graphics card in the future. Are these parts any good for mid-high graphic gaming (ARMA, GTA IV, etc)? Are these parts 'future proof'? Would you recommend me getting anything else or changing anything on my list? My main usage will be for gaming and programming; I am not looking for a SSD at the moment. Any advise will be appreciated! Thanks, Jamie
  7. Hello all, I've recently bought a R9 290 Tri-X by Sapphire after deciding to rebuild/upgrade my current system. I am slowly removing / adding new parts to my current system as I need a working computer much of the time. Here is my current system specs: Motherboard: Asrock N68-VS3-UCC Geforce 7025 Socket AM3 Onboard VGA 5.1 Channel Audio mATX Motherboard. CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95w 1.5MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor @ 3.2ghz. Cooler: Stock cooler. RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory Module CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.5V Unbuffered Non-ECC (two sticks of 4GB). PSU: Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze PSU 3 Year Warranty. I was recommended on getting a FX-8350 by most people who I talked to as I am looking for a AMD CPU. However, I am unsure on what motherboard to get to go along with this. I have had a look around and found that these two were the most commonly recommended / used with the FX- 8350: GigabyteGA-970A-UD3P Asus Sabertooth 990FX I am probably going to overclock to around 4.6ghz or higher (hopefully) and will go with water cooling once I've got the money. I am also going to be upgrading my PSU too as 600w isn't really enough to overclock and have a R9 290 (+crossfire in the future). I am thinking about also getting the Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case to put my new system in. I just thought I'd post on here to get some professional opinions as any recommendations on the motherboard, CPU or anything else in general would be very appreciated. Thanks, Jamie
  8. I'll put my trust into you then Changed a few things around based on your suggestion and this is what I have come up with: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/jamiesage123/saved/2Ss7 (http://i.snapthat.net/LQ8d.png). I am hoping that I will be able to get a bit more money to get the R9 280X (http://www.ebuyer.com/579374-sapphire-vapor-x-r9-280x-3gb-gddr5-oc-dual-dvi-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-11221-02-40g) otherwise I'll have to go with the HD7970.
  9. My current case is broken so it definitely needs upgrading, it won't be able to survive! I've taken all of your ideas and mashed them into my own, are these any good / will they work together? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/24Xqg Again, I really appreciate your help.
  10. Awesome thanks all. I see that everyone is going for the R9 280X which is definitely something I'd like to get (but I didnt think I had the budget for). Due to them three parts taking up all my budget, can anyone recommend a case to get, as my budget is strictly around £400 there might have to be a bit of leeway on the motherboard (if possible). Thanks again <3, Jamie.
  11. Hello there! I have £400 (GBP) to spend on upgrading my current computer to get the best possible performance out of it for gaming. I play a very large variety of games which include Battlefield 3 (planning on getting 4 soon), GTA IV, Minecraft, Far Cry 3, Arma 2/3 etc. My current computer does play most games with at least 20 - 40 fps at high settings but I'd love to be able to play games such as arma 3 on high settings at a good frame rate. I current play at 1680x1050 and I do have multiple screens (HDMI, DVI). My current parts are: Motherboard: Asrock N68-VS3-UCC Geforce 7025 Socket AM3 Onboard VGA 5.1 Channel Audio mATX Motherboard. CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95w 1.5MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor (I am using the stock cooler that come with this). RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory Module CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.5V Unbuffered Non-ECC (two sticks of 4GB). PSU: Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze PSU 3 Year Warranty. Video Card: XFX HD 6870 900MHz 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Dual Mini DisplayPort HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card. Monitor: HP w2207 monitor. Storage: 1TB toshiba (x2). Case: Needs upgrading. I am not planning on upgrading my mouse, keyboard, OS or storage. I personally think that my CPU, motherboard and video card needs upgrading (but whatever gets me better performance is a plus one). The main reason I want to upgrade is to get as much performance out of my computer as possible, I'm not one to fuss over noise but I definitely want to (hopefully) get better FPS and graphics on high settings on games such as ARMA OA/3, GTA IV, Battlefield 4 and future games to come. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks again, Jamie.
  12. Nope, I'm not saying that we should be able to have firearms, that'd just make it worse (obviously). I totally agree. Prisons are literally like a long term bed and breakfast. They were even going to give them the right to vote (pffff). They did, but they are easily accessible via torrent websites.
  13. As most of you would know, people have successfully created firearms in America by using 3D printers not that long ago. The 'blue prints' for these firearms were put online world to see and now they are regularly accessible. Unfortunately, Manchester Police have discovered a 3D printer which Police believe to have been used to create a firearm. They found a trigger and a magazine which they believe have been created by using the 3D printer. Source: http://news.sky.com/story/1159349/police-find-first-3d-gun-printing-factory ------------------- I live in London which does have quite a big gun crime problem. It honestly does shock me that people can create their own firearms without even raising suspicion of the Police, the only thing they have to worry about is getting the rounds to shoot out of it. This is the first time any Police Force in the United Kingdom (UK) has come across this. But i really doubt this is the only one in operation. If the Police don't do something about this, and fast, I can see it going out of control. Britain has a no gun culture, the only times you'll ever see a firearm is on a Police Officer or on a farm. It has been illegal for a very long time now to even own a pistol in the UK. If criminals are creating their own guns, the legal citizens have no way at all of defending themselves at all. - Jamie.
  14. Ah! Thanks! That website is awesome, definitely going to use it for now on. Really appreciate your help :)
  15. Hello, I've just put a list of parts together on ebuyer and I was wondering if someone could check over them to make sure they all fit together and would work. I am very new to PC building and don't want to kill my computer. Here is the list: http://www.ebuyer.com/lists/list/192657 Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks, Jamie.
