got a ducky shine 3 from a friend of mine, and he told me that it currently isn't working. when I plugged the keyboard into my laptop, Windows said that it couldn't detect the keyboard, and some parts of the keyboard are getting quite hot.

I don't have any warranty on this thing, is anyone here able to help me? i took a picture of the component that's getting quite hot.

thanks in advance.

It's impossible to diagnose the problem just by looking at a picture, you'd need to test the traces with a probe and compare the results to a board schematic. If that specific component is getting really hot and there's no other visible problem on the board, you could try replacing that piece with an identical part... but it's a shot in the dark.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
