Macbook Air Shift Key

A friend of mine has a MacBook Air. Its a piece of garbage but other than throwing it away and buying a windows machine is there any way to fix it.

 

The keyboard shift key is stuck down. they key its self is fine but something is triggering it. Can't type in lowercase at all. Can't log into anything because of this.

 

Tried cleaning it with compressed air. Anyone else have this problem? if so how did you fix it?
