Wifi Interference or BS?

We recently installed some Arlo cameras at a relative's house.

We currently have 6 cameras but supposedly when we installed it, the wifi has "drastically" slowed down.

The way the cameras work is that the cameras connect to the box & the box is plugged directly into the router via Ethernet. We put the Camera box right next to the router. The cameras work by motion and are placed throughout the house at reasonable distances. When someone moves in a room (They're indoor cameras)  it will record a 10 second clip or a 1 minute clip depending on which camera was set to a longer record time. It's 480 or 720p with meh fidelity.

Do you think that the box is actually slowing down the wifi? I'm calling BS because the internal network speed should be fast. Verizon provides the WiFi router. The internet speed used to be the slowest but the service was upgraded. I'm guessing it's the 35 or 50 MBPS speed. We originally had only 4 cameras and supposedly it was a problem.
One person keeps unplugging the router to "reset" it though I feel like this isn't something that'd matter. I thought resetting a router would only matter if you're being attacked, you have a significant memory leak, or there's an absurd que of network pings from many users on the network.

The cameras, a phone using what's-app and a laptop for business IT work are the only things on the network.

Could significant slow down occur or is this BS?

I feel these excuses are driven by alternate motives as we were fought by the complainer about installing the cameras. (Not his property.) This individual claimed that companies keep several routers on top of each other & wonder why their network is slow & that's the problem.

Unplug camera box from the router and test speeds again? Try to see if problem is solved by unplugging the cameras.. perhaps they are hogging the bandwidth?

Didn't think of that.
I believe the story went that it's inconsistent but we can try that. I won't have a set time I can but I'm curious if anyone else has thoughts if they could add them.

Thanks!!
