Hey All,

This post is sort of a continuation of a previous thread I started for my GPUs which I originally thought to be the source of my problems. I have an Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2 mobo that was working great up until I installed 2 Asus Turbo GTX 960s in it. After that, it started having issues recognizing hardware. At first I thought it was just the GPUs (as it did find out I had them in the wrong slots), but after installing them in the correct slots, the system would only recognize 1 GPU in Device Manager and it had driver errors on it. Additionally, if I tried to plug in any new USB devices, I would get a "Windows could not install driver" message no matter what device it was or what USB port I plugged it into. Naturally, I thought this was probably an OS issue with the registry or something so I did a fresh Windows 10 install to eliminate any chance of software issues.

Upon installing a fresh instance of Win 10 Pro, I ensured the latest GPU drivers were installed, but STILL had the same problem. Only 1 GPU recognized and no other devices able to install drivers upon being plugged in a USB port. I've looked for known issues on this relating to Windows, but haven't come up with anything that remotely matches my symptoms. At this point, I'm starting to think that my motherboard could be the only culprit and am starting to look into options to replace it without spending half the money I'd spend on a new PC. However, if anyone can think of anything that might help, please feel free to chime in.

In the meantime, I am looking into replacement options since that will be far cheaper than having to buy a new CPU/RAM/Mobo. I haven't found much in terms of reasonable replacements on Ebay for my Sabertooth 990fx. I checked my invoice from Newegg and discovered that the motherboard was purchased just a few months outside of the Asus warranty period of 5 years. I'm not hopeful, but I did open a ticket with Asus support to see if there's a chance the tech might be in a good mood and might send me a replacement board. Anyone had experience with Asus support??? Ever found them to be lenient?
