On LTT YouTube channel, I have been watching a number of system configuration being benchmarked.

The mostly used benchmarking use cases are stress test, video gaming, some video editing.

As a embedded system developer, one real system load is build system to compile a embedded system OS.

Some example of build system are Buildroot / OpenWRT , Android, Yocto ( Embedded system distribution : Poky ).

Building a embedded system OS ( Tools, OS and SDK ) can take several hours, stressing CPU and storage access.

I am curious about how some of the system presented by LTT would manage build system loads, scaling compilation across dozens of cores.

What configuration gives the best balance ( CPU, Storage, Time, Cost ) ?

I offer to come up with bundled build systems ( Android, Yocto ) to use for benchmarking different configuration if LTT is interested.

The build machine would run Ubuntu 16.04 and build system would be run by a docker container and triggered by a single command line.

Let me know.
