Problem with GTX 970

So I have an MSI GTX 970 and it doesn't work with my P8Z77-V LE mobo, but when I try this gpu in an old phenom system from like 2010 it works great, that pc has an 550w psu and mine has an 850w, Do I need to buy a new mobo to fix this issue? Cuz I get no display and blackscreen, cant get post when the gpu is connected. Ive seen other people having problem with the 970 and the z77 motherboards, I have the latest bios installed. 

I get no picture on the other slot either!

i7 2600k @4.5

24GB RAM 

GTX 660ti oc edition (using it rn since 970 doesnt wna work in my pc)

You do connect the hdmi/whatever cable to the graphics card instead of motherboard right? Also check in BIOS that the graphics card is set as the main display out or something.

Had no issues with my 970ssc on my z77. 

Boot with igpu and ensure the card is being recognized in the bios and device manager.

yes when I do that I can see the gtx 970 pop up in device manager with an orange triangle, code 43, tried installing drivrs to it and it doesnt help either.. Do i put pcie as main I often get black screen and sometimes I got picture but very low res and the screen freezes and I need to reboot.

I tend to reseat the card and move it to another slot of that doesn’t work. I’ve had those kind of issues but know the card worked so I know it couldn’t be the issue.

I gonna try the gpu in an lga 1150 system tomorrow/later today and see what happens!

didnt work in that pc either, only works in this old phenom pc from like 2010/2011, this is weird..
