Did i get the wrong SSD?

Ok. but when i put in the m.2 should it stand up by itself? i have seen them do the in videos put this one does not do that and the screw hole is only showing halfway am i just doing it wrong?

You need to put the drive in at and angle and then lay it flat, that way the connector goes in all the way.
