I'm currently on a PC with a  R5 1600, gtx 1080ti, 16gb of RAM. I wanna upgrade to a 8700k with a Liquid Cooling solution. I need recommendations for the Z370 board and the liquid cooler. I have some RGB elements on my PC so please keep that in mind. Case is a Phanteks P400s TG, PSU is a EVGA 650g2 . The reason I'm doing this upgrade is that my old Ryzen build isn't giving me enough frames for my 144hz 1440p monitor. Will I need to re-install windows because it's a  cross platform upgrade or can I just plug and play with my storage? Thanks in advance

If you have a pcpartpicker list of the current build, it would be helpful.

If you have a half decent motherboard, you might consider going with a 2700X instead of the i7-8700K. The performance difference in gaming is not that great and a new motherboard would not be necessary.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
