My computer knowledge is very limited so go easy :)

I have always just had laptops or a 2nd hand tower until recently.

I brought a Dell 5000mt

Ryzen 7 1700x

1tb 7200rpm HDD and M.2 256mb SSD

Radeon RX580 8g

Then i brought a Acer predator ultrawide.

I also use a 24" curved screen.

Initial purchase was mainly for video editing fpv miniquad footage.

The ultrawide for editing is fantastic and i use the smaller screen to break out the preview window.

Now to the point.

Its coming on winter so less flying and now i have a rig that can play games. I brought a couple games.

I have the Predator overclocked to 100hz

With Destiny 2 i am seeing around mid 40fps to low 60s at 3440x1440 res

If i drop it to 1080 it obviously jumps to around 160fps.

Is there anyway to pump the fps up in 1440 res  ?

Have tried dropping some of the settings to med/low with very little gain.

Will turning off the 2nd monitor make any difference?

If so is there a easy way to disable the 2nd screen in windows 10 with a short cut of some type  ?

Thanks for any advice.

you'd had to lower game settings or get a more powerful card, the 580 is a great card but you can't max out every game

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

I am not a hard core gamer and have only used consoles before. The graphics are unbelievable compared to my old ps3. I just thought there may have been a easy fix to get around 60fps constantly.

Also i don't know if or how i can over clock the rx580 and if this will make any difference ?

Is Destiny 2 a demanding game or just average  ?

Having the second monitor on or off won't make any difference, in order to max out AAA games you'll just need a more powerful card, like a 1070 or Vega 56. Overclocking may help a little but probably not enough to get a solid 60fps locked.
