Can't reset Windows 10. Help!

So I'm in a bit of a difficult situation here, I'm trying to reset Windows 10 Home on a HP laptop, but the problem is, I don't know how.

  • The start menu won't open, it comes up with a dialogue saying Critical Error, please sign out so we can try to fix it, and of course that doesn't seem to work...
  • and Action Center won't open...
  • Is there any way I can get into the Windows 10 'Metro App' settings area through the run prompt?

Any help appreciated

Ok, so I've managed getting into settings using start ms-settings: in cmd. Time to try a reset.
