HDD to SSD

What type of SSD do you have and is this a laptop or desktop? The fastest way is to clone the HDD onto the SSD, then either keep the HDD as a backup or format the HDD and use it.

If you bought a Samsung SSD, it might have come with a backup migration software.

I don't know much about WD SSDs, I would recommend their HDDs for sure

I highly recommend anything coming from the Samsung 840 or Samsung 840 Pro series. Vertex 4 and M4 are good also.

840 Pro 256GB or 512GB will demolish Chuck Norris. Just Saying.

The easiest way I've found is to just install Windows 8 onto the SSD, then just move the default folder/program files locations to the HDD if you're keeping the HDD. If its a laptop, you're kinda stuck just using the SSD. Cloning works alright but I recommend a clean install.

If you get an intel SSD they come with acronis software to just copy everything from the ssd to the hdd.

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.
