No POST after overclocking fail

Having some issues getting my computer to post after an overclcocking fail. I've tried clearimg CMOS (by powering off completely and removing battery, then junping clear CMOS). Having no luck, any suggestions? 

 

Specs 

Ryzen 5 1600x

Msi x370 gaming plus

Gtx 960 4gb

1x8gb ddr4 2666mhz

700w psu

 

Side note: i tried to overclock to 4.0ghz and 1 step up on cpu voltage from stock. Not an insane overclock.

Clear CMOS by removing the battery. You may not have hit the right jumper

 

 

Is it not booting up at all? Or are the fans spinning and whatnot? Any error lights or codes?

 

 

Worst case scenario you fried your CPU, but I doubt that happened.

Worst case scenario you fried your CPU, but I doubt that happened.

Fans spin but then ramp down after about 10 seconds. Motherboard doeant have a code reporter (a digital one anyway).

pull the kettle lead out your pc

if you got onboard graphics and are comfertable taking it out gpu do that

disconnect ALL USB and SATA devices from the motherboard (easiest is just pull satas and leave them near the board)

make sure all power pins on the motherboard is satisfied 8pins etc

 

While I am here have you checked the linustechtips post list lol

 

with the kettle lead out, hold the power button for two mins, then replug kettle?

if you knew hardward, you would know that the Ryzen 5 1600x does NOT have on board graphics...

What voltage did you set it at? If you set it too high you probably fried your CPU.

I set it 1 bump up from stock so i dont think i fried it but its possible

Tried resetting your CMOS? If you have a case like mine there's a reset button so u dont even need to open the PC up.

This is really weird, you only put the multiplier (I assume) one up from stock but it may just have fried your CPU. By stock do you mean normal clock or the stock boost? Got my fx 6300 at 4.4ghz and haven't fried that.

Put multiplyer to 4.0ghz and voltage to somewhere around 1.38 or 1.39

Update: found motherboard light signals and it seems to indicate that "CPU is not detected or fail."

If that's unsuccessful, just get a 2200G for now, they're pretty cheap.

RAM errors shouldn't screw things up with the CPU so badly that it's not detected. lol.

Change teams if you like to overclock.  5GHz is a lot more fun than 4GHz...just sayin'

 

Try reseating the CPU, reseating the Ram, reseat the CPU power plug, try the CPU in a buddies machine, remove the Mobo and try to fire it on the bench, blind flash the bios, etc.  Lots of things to try before putting her out to pasture.
