Hi

So I've been having this problem recently. My games would randomly lag for a second or two and the sound would also stutter (make this annoying noise, like bee noise) for the time of the stutter.

It doesn't happen much, and it certainly effect my gaming experience. But, my biggest concern is that this is a hardware problem. I'm afraid my PC would suddenly fail without warning, or that some serious hardware damage would occur.

I don't remember doing anything that resulted in this to happen, for all I know it started by itself.

Please note that I recently got a new monitor (SAMSUNG C24FG73) and it failed after 2 days of use. I returned it to get a replacement and I'm currently using my old monitor.

I made a topic about the monitor:

In case these problems could be somehow related, also the stuttering might have been started after getting the new monitor, I'm not really sure.

I just want to know/add all possibilities.

Please help with what could cause the problem, all possibilities of what could cause such problem. And what can I do to fix it

My build is new, almost 4 months old. You can find it in signature and my profile.

PS: the stuttering also occurred on new monitor. Might have started when I got it. Not really sure as I said. :)

This may not be the issue, but do you have another PSU to test the system with?

Have you tried testing any of your hardware? Does it happen when running a benchmark, or just in games?

Honestly, what came to my mind is that something big is wrong with my hardware, and if fucked up my new monitor I talked about.

I don't know if that's even possible, but it's something I assumed, and if it's true that would e a really big and expensive problem.

Again that all looks fine. As stated before make sure all drivers are upto date such as graphics and sound drivers.

I updated the GPU driver, other than that everything seems up-to-date. I will have to play somethhing late and see if the problem continues

This is a long shot, but I just discovered last night that monitoring the GPU power in MSI afterburner causes frame drops in VR. Serious ones that make it downright unplayable. I have reason to suspect that it's not just afterburner and it's not just VR.  It's just that you notice it a lot more in VR.

So, try turning off any monitoring or overclocking software and see if it stops.

If it does stop, you can likely still use that software.

You just need to go into the settings and uncheck the option to monitor GPU power if the option is there.
