So my mouse has not been working properly for some time and i tried to fix it tons of times. It basically works when i turn on my pc and stops working after a few minutes(mouse moves but cant click). Its a basic usb mouse

What i have tried to fix this:

- Disabling all power options

- Trying another mouse

- Searching for viruses

- Reinstalled windows 3 times

Pc specs:

Windows 10

Amd A8 5600K APU

Asus Gtx 650

Crucial 2x4gb ddr3 1333mhz

Hitachi 1tb 5400rpm

Msi FM2-A55M-E33

Lc power 500W

Update: Ran Memory and Hard drive diagnostics, no problems were found.

hmmm, have you tried:

starting with the mouse unplugged then plugging in?

resetting bios?

starting in safe mode?

checking event viewer for errors?

I cant think of to many other things that might work

i tried everything but resetting the bios i dont even know how to do that

Even safe mode didnt fix it? That's not good, I would start looking for hard drive and ram issues then, it sounds like the software is working. Run some hardware scans and see what they find.

I know you said you tried another mouse but did you try it in another port? What happened when you tried a different mouse? If the  problem went away with a different mouse, get a new one. If the same thing happens to the other mouse, then you either have issues with your ports, or you may have a virus or malware that is interfering with your mouse. Have you run malware and virus scans with something decent, in other words not Windows Defender, McAfee or Norton? You can also try doing a system restore to a time when you knew that your mouse was working and see if that helps.

I have tried another mouse and the problem was there, tried the original mouse in other ports still the same problem, ran virus scans and did a system reset and its still here
