HyperX Cloud Core Mic Won't Work

I've had the HyperX Cloud Core's for almost 2 years now. After winter break, the mic randomly stopped working. Oddly enough, the headset itself still works and plays sounds perfectly. I contacted Kingston and they sent me a Cloud II mic, which as far as I can tell is the exact same mic. The replacement mic also does not work.

I did not use them over break and there is no damage to them as far as I can see. What could be the problem?

* I've updated and uninstalled the drivers multiple times. I even tried to use my phone and it did not recognize a mic being connected.

Then maybe both of your mics still work but the connection inside of the headset is broken from too many removals/insertions or some other type of damage? You can always get a zalman $10 mic replacement in the meantime.
