Very Simple Question,,

Are the QX-XXXX CPU's Really unlocked??

I currently have a Q6600 and i can overclock it to 3.2Ghz with the FSB Stable. on an H-80,, it Idles at 40 degrees. Full load Temp are around 75~80 degrees.

I've herd the Extreme CPU's run a bit Cooler on an Overclock because of the Presumed Un-locked Multiplyer.

Is this true?? I have heard and Read different opinions., About them being "Un-Locked"

I love me Some un-Locked multiplyer.

Thanks All

Thanks to all

The multiplier is unlocked

About them running coooler, mine ran cooler under full load, but it could have been just a good chip so not sure if it was that for all extreme editions

i think it had a maximum multiplier of 15 and i think lowest was a 8 (could be a 6 also can't remember, don't have mine anymore so can't check), and no idea about how far you can push yours ,every cpu gets different results.

Tho keep an eye out for your northbridge temps, that 780i can burn once you start overclocking it.

Yea see? I read that the Multi was only a few clicks up and down. I have this "Play with" Rig in a 500R with a 200MM in the side so it stays pretty cool on the NB.

Thanks again for the input.
