Mac Mini Upgrade Upgrade Fail

steven4264
I tried upgrading my 2006 mac mini from its original core duo processor to a T7400 core 2 duo, supposed to be compatible with my mini.  However when I plug it in after getting it all back together the fan goes to 100%, does not boot or any lights on the front.. I put the old processor back in and I get the same result.

I have triple checked everything is plug in the appropriate spots.
Tried original processor.
Tried holding the power button in for 5 secs then leave it sit for 5 then push the button again.
Tried leaving it unplugged and the cmos battery out for several minutes.
Tried reseating the ram.

It was working perfectly fine till I tried the new processor, have any ideas whats wrong?

I bet you either killed something or forgot to plug something back in. Make sure every connection is secure and working.

May want to double check your ram.

I had upgraded 2X1gb sticks in it, tried going back to the original 2x512mb sticks, made no difference.

Try booting with different RAM combinations.
