Warning, you will probably find this long and boring, feel free to go to the TLDR.

May as well start from the beginning. I had a crappy laptop that I purchased from my college as it was covered under the bursary from my high school. It was ok enough to get my c# programming done, but it wasn't powerful enough to have any emulated devices or virtual machines without it crawling to a halt (4GB ram, 320gb HDD, intel i5 2nd gen).

So for my second year (September 2016). I finally purchased my first gaming laptop (HP Omen 15-5210C, which is even more powerful than my desktop) from money I made from my summer job as tech support. It had a GTX 960M, intel i7-4720HQ, and 8GB of ram. It was also sleek, portable, light on it's gamer aesthetics, and can't forget the RGB keyboard.

Fast forward to summer of 2017. Finally got a chance to play games I purchased that I couldn't play because my desktop was too week. But for some reason it seemed the performance was a bit off, though I didn't really care as I could finally play the games.

Than in January of 2018 I decided I would test my laptops performance. I borrowed my colleagues steam account and ran 3D Mark - Firestrike. The performance was almost 50% percent less than what it should have been.

I couldn't find HP's support phone number for canada that was toll free so I made this post on there forum.

In about 2 days, HP called me and offered a free repair even though my laptop was out of warranty! (Guess being a poor college student has some magic powers...)

I sent another forum message out 3 weeks later about the repair progress as it remained a weird mystery as I thought I should have received my laptop back by now.

In about 2 days, HP called me again and apologized about the delay and said that the parts would take 3 months to arrive, so they offered me a replacement laptop, which ended up being a NEWER LAPTOP!!

This one to be precise.

Though I do lose the nice slimness, and RGB keyboard of my last laptop. I get one with better specs!

May have been a long wait for the whole process to happen. But this is probably the best support I have ever received in my life. And I've had to deal with awful support before hand.

TLDR;

- Replaced old college laptop for gaming one

- Ended up finding out gaming performance was hindered after warranty was expired

- Got a free, better laptop for a replacement

- 10/10 best support I've ever received

- Is there anyone else out there with similar / great support from a company (If so, what is your story)?
