5 Long beeps : RAM Malfunction

 

1 short beep : approx. time it would have taken you to open your motherboard manual

Well maybe the battery came defective or maybe you left your computer unplugged from the wall for too much time

The cmos battery should be able to hold charge for months at a time, for the time being just change yours and see if the problem disappears
