Problem with Asus Xonar Essence STX after re-installing Windows 10.

Mitra

I use an Asus Xonar Essence STX in my Windows 10 system.

This always worked perfect with my cheap Coloud (in-ear) headset.

This week my PC would not work, after having been a few hours in hibernation.

The only way to get things working was a fresh installation of Windows 10.

Everything I installed until now is working, but, I heard no sound when I opened Foobar.

For some reason I get no longer sound (like I used to) with the headphone connected to the

plug it was in, the middle one, next to the RCA-ports.

I discovered that the headphone will know work when connected when connected to the red&white RCA ports. However, the volume is less than 50% from what it used to be.

I don’t understand how a re-installation of Win 10 can make audio-ports change!

Any suggestions to get my headphone working again on the middle port would be welcome.

In the past I upgraded from Win 8.1 to 10, so going back to the previous Win 10 (or buying a high-end headphone) is no option ;-(

An active squirrel: thanks a million! That worked.

I don't know why I didn't try that myself: I kept on trying the preferences of Foobar.

I really appreciate your very fast reply and solution.

Best regards from a Dutch retiree in SW-Thailand.

For some reason driver for the original STX is gone from ASUS website.  I'm forced to use a diy driver, wtf.
