Steam OS GRUB?

Every time I try to install steam os it gives me this message:  error: unknown filesystem.  grub rescue>  How do I get past this issue?

Try re installing steam OS the problem here looks like you are using a file system that GRUB cannot read, seems weird steam OS should use a file system that GRUB supports, hope it works out well for you

I believe that issue occurs when the SteamOS install is booted into from non-UEFI bios. Try changing your boot setting for the SteamOS install media perhaps? I know that on an Asus motherboard I have, it allows for me to boot things in UEFI, or legacy mode.

Yes, you need to be booting in UEFI mode, otherwise the system wont boot.
