So I recently bought some parts to make a cheap build that can handle some light gaming 

300w psu don't know what kind 

Only has 20pin 

Q6600 

Motherboard that used to have an extreme core 2 quad on it but didnt work 

Ddr3 8gb of hyperx Kingston ram 

Gtx 750 

Currently rocking some 3 pin cooler 

Wating on a 4pin cpu cooler

The problem is that I turn it on then it turns off and no display

Have you tried this: turn the system off at the switch on the back, unplug it, press the front/top power switch to discharge any remaining electricity, plug the system back in, switch it on at the back and then press the front power switch? Also, have you tried resetting the BIOS?

Try disconnecting all parts, adding them one by one and powering on with each component out, one by one. That way you should be able to see if the board is essentially dead or not.

You say the system came with a Core 2 Extreme that also didn't work, by any chance did it do the same thing?

 

Sounds like a dead board to me.

Well never tried it i took the cpu out and used it on my system beacuse i didnt have ddr3 memory
