BSoD: Windows Reset or Clean Install?

Hello,

I have just received response from Sapphire that the BSoD (THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER) caused by AMD drivers (atikmdag.sys) might be resolved by reinstalling Windows.

Big question is, is resetting Windows enough? Or should I reinstall everything from a USB stick (which I'd like to avoid)?

I only have one SSD and no other drives to install Windows on.

Seems to be a graphics driver. Uninstall all GPU drivers with a program called "DDU" (if I am correct). It should remove any and all graphics drivers from your pc/registry. Try reinstalling the drivers afterwards, and it should be as good as new. (for the GPU drivers/your error)

Already done that several times.

Then I doubt a clean OS install will work... Sapphire told you to reinstall your OS, which is a bit strange. But you can always try. (or just tell them you did just that, and RMA the card)

Just re-installed Windows. Many other people advised to reinstall the OS in order to clean up DirectX as well.

Weirdly enough my GPU idle temps dropped by 15 degrees after the reinstallation. I'm wondering what changed.
