crashed now i can't boot

So I was on my laptop which is a hp elitebook 8470p and I wasn't even touching my laptop when the screen went black. now it will not boot it won't even get to a bios screen. All it does when i hit the power button is go into some sort of loop where the lights turn on and the disc drive spins up then everything turns off and it starts all over, all i had open when the crash happened was c++ eclipse.

it could be power failure check the battery "replace it with another one " or the power supply

its been plugged in and the power light is on

after doing a little more research it seems a single blink for hp is a postcode for a dead cpu
