Skill matching PUBG

Hello everyone,

 

I have become really frustrated with PUBG recently, because after feeling like being above average/good at the game (5-6 Kills on average, usually top 20) - I had a very steep drop-off a couple weeks ago. This was going so far as to me not surviving 90% of the first encounters (literally 10-15 games with no kill). It really felt like I was progressively getting worse.

Now I jump back in yesterday and all of the sudden I was again at the level I was before in all my games. Then I noticed that the stats were also reset yesterday. Is this all because of the skill-matching that is going on in the game?
