Power brick's cord compatibility?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

If it fits, it's fine.

All those numbers are telling you is that @ 250V AC, the cord supports up to 2.5A.  That has to do with the gauge wire used.

Hello!

I'd like to introduce myself with a dumb yet personally meaningful question.

I've got two cords for a laptop power brick but one's shorter (the original) than the other (the pulled out of a scrap pile). They seem to be in the same range given the numbers on them but the other logos are gibberish to me. I've used the scrap one for several years on my previous laptop (also replaced the original one) which has only a slightly lower power consumption writen on the brick itself.

I may just be timid but can I use the scrap one this time also?

Sorry for the ultra-hd-rightsideup picture.
