Since June I have been planning to build a gaming pc, since i'm pretty new in the pc world I have done some research on the internet. The internet did answer most of my questions, but  there are still some questions that hasn't been answered yet.

First let me start with that I want to build a gaming pc with a budget around 1000 euro's.

I will mainly be using the PC for playing the latest games on 1080p with ofcourse an framerate around the 60.

Question

I know that most of your budget goes into ur GPU and CPU, but my question is what kind of ratio do i need to put my budget into my GPU in comparison to my CPU. From what I have read online most people say that ur GPU is really important for your game performance, but if ur CPU underperformes your game performance will decrease massively.

And my second question is. Is 16 gb of memory to much? Is 8 gb enough just for 1080p gaming purposes

For now this is the build that I want if you guys could give me some advice on my first pc build like which parts I should replace.

I would really appreciate it

CPU : Intel - Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  €219

CPU cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler €35,99

Motherboard: MSI - Z270-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard €179,99

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory €181,99

Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive €74,99

GPU: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card €399,99

Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 Red LED €59,99

Power supply: Corsair CS550M €82,99

Normally the prices of parts in the Netherlands (country where I live) are way higher then in america

PS: sorry for the bad english

Replace the Z270 motherboard with a B250 board and get rid of that aftermarket CPU cooler as this CPU doesn't need one.

Get a R5 1600. Use the stock cooler that comes along with it.

It's hard to say which % of your budget you should spend where. But you have to prioritize things that ACTUALLY give you a performance in games. And these are GPU>CPU>RAM.

Then, avoid hard bottlenecks. So GPUs which less than 4GB of VRAM or non-DDR5 memory are to be avoided. Also, get 8GB of memory "to be sure" to avoid problems. Go for the very least a dual core CPU, but it's extremely suggested to go for a quad core CPU (i5 or r3/r5). An SSD MIGHT speed up some loading times in some games, but it's performance it's very relative expecially without a high end hardware on the other sides, so it's just a "plus" that boosts everything you do on the computer, but much more software responsiveness and it's not necessary for gaming.

Other than that, 16GB of RAM aren't needed for gaming. Actually it's not really needed even for multitasking, it's more about "futureproofing".
