I had recently purchased a case for an upgrade or sorts. I wanted a case with a full window side panel. After opening the box, I soon realized that the glass panel is on BOTH sides of the tower (both right and left side panel are full window panels).

I don't like that the other panel is glass too, since it won't hide cable management, so I'm thinking of painting it black.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I should go about this? Should I paint the inside or outside of the panel? What kind of paint should I use? Will the paint melt with the heat of the inside? Or is this even a doable idea?

Thanks in advance.

You could use black electrical tape or you could make use different color electrical tapes and make the side of you case art work

If not you could maybe use plastidip

Very dark window tinting film would be a cheap way to go. There are also artists that paint on glass, but I'm not sure what paint they use, or how durable it is. There is also soundproofing, and insulating material specifically for computers. I've used that, but it was a long time ago, and had foil on both sides, which may not be desirable.

Best Excuses:

#1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

#2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer and get the side panel you want. Dont take the easy route and do a ghetto mod as you'll soon regret the look of it. Take the time to do it right and it'll look how you want.

I bought the Phanteks Evolv ATX case a month and a half before the TG case came out. I was kicking myself until I thought of just contacting Phanteks. They sent me the windowed side panel and all hardware for $30. Its worth a shot.

If you do want to paint glass I would just paint the inside that way you can maintain that nice glass finish from the outside and still hide the mess. Heat is a non issue. The biggest concern will be getting the paint to stick to the glass. But almost any acrylic, latex or spray paint should work though it might scratch off easily.

Edit: A vinyl wrap would also work well and is less prone to searching off. Again apply to the inside.
