Friend Needs a Laptop

Hey community,

 

My friend needs a new laptop. He absolutely hates windows so he's deciding between:

Which one do you recommend?

Lenovo X270 seems pretty clunky imo, but I will relay it to him. Thanks!

 

Also curious why not the MBP?

Unless he really, really likes macOS, don't go for it. 

 

The XPS is unparalleled in both looks and support for Ubuntu.

If I were going MacBook, I'd probably go a little older with better specs for that price range.  This is the first thing I seen on eBay (not recommending it but seems like a better deal -- I have a similar late 2013 that still works great!)

I also dual-boot Ubuntu on it with no problems.
