I just successfully did a clean install of windows to my new ssd, and everything is very fast, except for one thing. Every time I boot up the system windows scans a disk, and says press any key to stop the scan. I am thinking that it is scanning the hard drive which has my old os partition and my data partition. I am using the data partition to store all of my games and large applications. What can I do to prevent windows from scanning the disk on startup? (my drive apparently has a few pending sectors according to crystal disk info, but the number has been stable for about a week, could this be the issue?)

disk management -> delete your old windows partition (all your old data will be gone, make sure its not your SSD)

It's possible its scanning an active disk, like, the current install (C:\).  If so, I'd let it run. If you do, it shouldn't come back again unless it needs to.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
