HI guys,

So I just finished building my first system. I have not tried to go into BIOS all I have tried to do is turn on the system to see if everything works. When I first tried to turn it on all the lights flashed on and off at a 4 second interval. As well as my CPU debug light and my case lights and the fans turning on and off. (These are powered via a SATA power port and are only connected to my MOBO via front io) (other side note, my case had no power LED connector). Fearing the worst I tried to remove to MOBO to check for fallen screws and places that it could have shorted out as well as to check the CPU. I was pretty careful during this process and was grounded to the case with the PSU plugged in but not on. I decided to try to shoot a video to post on the forums, plugged everthing back in. When I turned on the PSU nothing happened. No lights, no fans, nothing.  Did I fry my CPU of MOBO? Dose anyone know a way to tell?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I have some experience in these matters.

Is there any noise coming from the system when you try and turn it on? Any clicking from the PSU?

Considering it's a new build there are a few possibilities including dead parts on arrival/near death parts.

In terms of 'frying' components it's usually because of something stupid like have something metal shorting something out or spilling coffee.... I've never done it but it happens. It is also often accompanied by smoke and or sparks and in some cases yes flames.

I'm cautiously optimistic but it's not my system or my money I know it can be stressful. One thing to try is to remove components one by one and replacing them. With the power off of course and seeing if that helps.
