Power Led Indicator Fliker

Alright, I don't know what category to put this in but suddenly my power led indicator is flickering. The flicker is small but noticeable. Is this a sign of a dying led?

 

Its never done it before, just now and I've had the case for about a year, Its one of those cheap Chinese cases.

Since it's a sudden thing, you might be right in thinking it's slowly failing.

To be on the safe side, you could take a multimeter and measure the voltage and amperage coming from the mobo, just so you can eliminate the possibility of power fluctuations from the mobo (which is unlikely, or at least I haven't seen or heard of that happening, specially when it comes to the power LED).

But yeah, considering it's a cheap Chinese case, it's most likely the LED

Yeah its probably the led, ill measure out the voltages when I get time, I'm just asking just in case someone knows a potential solution. (I just cant be bothered opening the pc up).

That LED is there mostly as a legacy thing, I suppose; to let you know the PC is on. I don't even bother with it anymore unless clients want it working. 9 times out of 10 it's infuriatingly hard to plug in (thanks, sausage fingers.) and if it's one of those ultra bright LEDs it's plain annoying, specially in the dark.

 

You could just unplug it if it looks like it's going the way of the dodo. No harm in removing a potential fault, I suppose
