Bit-by-bit backup for multiple drives

I want to get a backup hard drive for my computer. I have two drives, a 240GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. If I got one 1.5TB drive, could I make two bit-by-bit backups for each drive on the single backup?

I believe that's possible.

Just to be clear, you mean the two drive images saved onto the 1.5 TB HDD?

I think if I partition the drive with a 1TB section and a 240GB section (probably a little more more each to ensure it works) I'll be able to backup each drive separately but I'm not sure.

Nah, you'd want to make it a single partition. Using multiple partitions would take up more space and at that point I'm not sure if you'd have enough.
