guys, i just upgraded my old pc (i3 3rd gen, ga-h61m-s1 rev3) with a gtx 1060. my monitor is vga monitor, so i also bought a convertor(working, tested with laptop's hdmi port).

recently (1 week ago, when i decided to upgrade my pc) my motherboard was struck by lightning (through lan port and modem) damaging the vga port as well as lan. result = vga port gives poorly coloured display(16bit color or so) and monitor model is not detected by the OS neither does the resolution of it, but i can output display through vga (by setting correct res n all) and i used that weak display to powerup spacedesk (multi monitor setup over wifi to other devices), but when i connect the spacedesk powered wifi display, vga monitor is cut off ( probably because it detected a wireless monitor and hence cut off the vga out to a display that OS cant see).

now when insert the 1060 naturally vga port is completely shut off as it cant detect displays there and here comes 5 new completely working ports. i tried the convertor and nothing. display is not coming, pc is working as i used the blind knowledge of my pc to boot into pc and heard the sound and all. now i cant use the hdmi port on 1060 neither can i use vga (tried, no working with 1060 plucked in).

how can i troubleshoot?

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT VGA MONITOR CONVERTED TO HDMI NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PRIMARY?

IS PCIe SLOT IS ALSO DAMAGED BY THE LIGHTNING? (but 1060 is running, fan is ON)

OR IS THE GRAPHICS CARD'S HDMI PORT DAMAGED BY SHIPPING OR MANUFACTURE DEFECT?

i'm running windows 10 on my pc. can anyone please help me with troubleshooting this?
